Day Crew Members live near their project and meet up each weekday morning at our office or a project partner office and head out to serve locally for the day. They'll need to wear appropriate clothes for projects and bring a daypack with everything they need for the day - food, full water bottles, rain gear, etc. They'll return to the office each afternoon and members will get picked up or head home for the night and get ready to do it all again!
The video was made for our Day Youth Crews, but the same packing tips and schedule generally apply to our Adult Day Crews.

WE HAVE LOANER GEAR!!!

Items marked with a red asterisk below are things we have available to loan out. Please ask if there is anything else that you need, as we may be able to get more loaner items as needed!

Required Gear (Bring/wear daily)

  • Lunch and snacks! Bring more than you think you need! See chart for food ideas.
  • Spork or any silverware needed for lunch
  • Day pack (20-35L)*
  • Work pants (We recommend owning 2 pairs. No big rips or holes. Dickies or Carhartts are a good choice. Jeans aren't recommended, and overalls/coveralls are acceptable)
  • ​Sturdy work/hiking boots (needs to reach over your ankle and be mostly leather, steel toes not recommended)
  • Rain jacket​
  • Reusable water bottles* (at least 2 liters capacity. Water bladders like CamelBaks are fine too)
  • Medication & hygiene products (inhalers, Epi-Pens, biodegradable wet wipes, menstrual products, etc.)

Recommended Gear

  • Sunscreen
  • Insect repellant
  • Unscented, alcohol-based hand sanitizer (there will be crew sanitizer, but you may want your own)
  • Watch
  • Small pocketknife or multitool
  • Fleece, wool, or synthetic jacket/sweater*
  • Bandana
  • Wool socks (not cotton)

Optional Gear

  • Rain pants​
  • Gaiters* (for tick prevention)
  • Undershirt (if you prefer one - uniform shirts provided)
  • Hat
  • Sunglasses 
  • Phone or camera
  • Notebook & writing utensil

Not Recommended Gear

  • Non-biodegradable products (they must be packed out, which means you have to take the trash with you). If you bring non-biodegradable wipes or use disposable menstrual products, we recommend you bring a Ziploc bag covered in duct tape and with a little baking soda inside to store the discarded items.

Prohibited Gear

  • Drugs & alcohol
  • Firearms, fireworks, or explosives
  • Knives with blades over 3” long
  • Clothing with inappropriate or offensive graphics
